With over a decade of experience in product design, I specialize in transforming complex challenges into intuitive, scalable user experiences—whether for early-stage startups or platforms with millions of users. As the lead designer behind Divi, I’ve crafted interfaces and systems used by over 1 million users worldwide, helping shape one of the most popular WordPress visual builders on the web.
My Story
My journey into the world of design began long before I held the title of Product Design Lead at Elegant Themes Inc. Growing up in Sylhet, Bangladesh, I was always curious about how technology and creativity intersected to solve real-world problems. My love for design wasn’t born from formal training at first, but from an innate desire to improve user experiences and create digital solutions that people truly enjoyed using.
From an early age, I found myself drawn to digital interfaces, fascinated by how intuitive design could make life easier for users. As I began my academic journey, my passion for design started to evolve. I realized that design wasn’t just about aesthetics—it was about understanding people, their needs, and how I could use my skills to serve them better through technology.
My career started with small freelance projects, designing websites and branding for clients. It wasn’t always easy, but it was incredibly rewarding. These early projects taught me how to approach design from the perspective of real users, and each piece of feedback helped shape my approach to design. I started seeing design not just as a job but as a powerful tool to solve problems.
My big break came when I joined Elegant Themes Inc. as a Product Designer. At the time, I was still learning, but the opportunity to work on products that would impact so many people pushed me to step up and deliver my best work. I focused on design systems and user interfaces, creating designs that were not only visually appealing but functional and easy to navigate. I quickly realized that design wasn’t just about creating something beautiful—it was about creating something that made the user’s journey smoother.
As I grew within Elegant Themes, I moved from being a designer to becoming a Product Design Lead. This transition wasn’t just about climbing the career ladder; it was about learning how to lead and collaborate with diverse teams. I found that the best designs come from understanding the people you work with and the users you’re designing for. I focused on mentoring my team, fostering collaboration, and ensuring that our work was always user-centric.
Being a leader in the design department gave me a unique opportunity to shape the future of the company’s products. I helped set new standards for design within the organization, always pushing for innovation while staying grounded in what users truly needed. It was incredibly fulfilling to see how our work had a direct impact on the success of the company and its products.
Throughout my career, my approach to design has remained simple yet powerful: design is about solving problems in a way that feels natural, beautiful, and user-friendly. Whether I was leading teams at Elegant Themes, mentoring fellow designers, my philosophy has always been rooted in empathy, collaboration, and a relentless drive for innovation.
Looking back, I’m proud of the journey I’ve taken—from my early freelance days to leading design teams and launching my own business. Design has always been more than just a career for me; it’s a passion, a tool for change, and a way to make the world a little more user-friendly.
